Trekkers, Guides & Families

The Mountthrill Community

The Mountthrill community is everyone connected by the trail — trekkers, local guides, homestay families, and drivers across Uttarakhand who make each trek possible and stay in touch long after it ends.

The mountains bring us together. The community keeps us connected.

Every trek begins with strangers. Many end with lifelong friendships. Some become travel partners for years to come. Read more about Our Story.

Beyond the trail

More Than Fellow Trekkers

A Mountthrill journey doesn't end when you return home.

Our community includes first-time trekkers, experienced mountaineers, photographers, backpackers, students, working professionals, families, and solo trekkers — all connected by the same thing: a pull toward the mountains.

Some meet on their first trek. Some come back every season. Some return to volunteer, mentor a newer batch, or just reconnect around another campfire.

Moments

Around Every Campfire, A Story Begins

The best conversations on a trek rarely happen on a screen.

They happen after sunset — around a fire, with tea going cold in your hands, tired legs, and stories from the day's trail. It's where strangers turn into a team. Where the nerves from a hard climb turn into laughter. Nobody plans these moments. They just happen, trek after trek.

Stories

Letters From The Mountains

Most trekking companies collect star ratings. We'd rather collect letters.

"I booked this trek hoping to escape work for a few days. I came back with friends I'll probably know for life. Somewhere between the forests and the summit, I realised I needed this journey far more than I knew."

— A Mountthrill Trekker

"The summit was incredible, but what I remember most is sharing tea with our local guide while it snowed outside the campsite."

— First Himalayan Trek

"I arrived alone. I never felt alone."

— Solo Trekker

The Community Never Stops Walking

After every trek, we stay connected through:

  • Community WhatsApp groups
  • Reunion meetups
  • Invitations to upcoming treks
  • Volunteer opportunities
  • Trek planning discussions
  • Trail condition updates
  • Mountain stories from past batches

Because one trek should lead to another.

Giving Back Together

Every Mountthrill journey supports the people who make Himalayan travel possible. Together with our community, we support:

The mountains give trekkers a lot. Giving something back is simply the right thing to do.

Founder-Led Adventure Series

Journey with MonkTrekker

Once a month, MonkTrekker personally leads one small-group Himalayan journey — not a standard package, but a route chosen for what it teaches, not just where it goes. Expect backpacking over marked trails, unscheduled stops in villages most itineraries skip, campfire conversations that run late, and a pace built for actually being there, not just getting through it.
