Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 15 August 2026

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully. They form the Participant Agreement between you and Mountthrill for every trek, expedition, or experience you book with us.

All treks and experiences advertised on this website (www.mountthrill.com) are operated by Mountthrill, an MSME-registered business having its registered office at Lane No 7E, Sarswati Vihar, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, 248001 — referred to hereafter as "Mountthrill," "the Company," "we," "us," or "our." By booking a trek with us, you ("you," "the Participant," "the Trekker") agree to be bound by the terms below.

If you are booking on behalf of other people, you confirm that you have their authority to accept these Terms on their behalf, and each additional participant will separately be required to accept this agreement before their booking is confirmed.

01Insurance

Valid outdoor adventure insurance that covers trekking at altitude is mandatory for every participant — Indian and international — on every Mountthrill trek. You must arrange this before your departure date. Mountthrill can guide you toward suitable providers, but arranging and paying for insurance is your responsibility.

02How to Book and Payments

Talk to a Trek Advisor First: Not sure which trek is right for you? Connect with our experienced trek advisor to plan your perfect adventure. This consultation is optional and free, and does not itself constitute a booking.

Booking Channels: You can book a trek through our website, phone/WhatsApp (+91 99971 67205), email (info@mountthrill.com), or an approved Mountthrill travel partner.

The person making the booking must be 18 years or older and have the legal authority to book on behalf of themselves and any co-trekkers. Once a booking is made, every additional trekker on that booking must individually accept these Terms before the booking is treated as confirmed.

Advance Payments: If you book with a partial (advance) payment, the remaining balance is due at least 30 days before departure — or, if your departure is sooner than 30 days away at the time of booking, before the departure date itself. If the balance isn't received by then, your booking will be treated as cancelled, and it will not be eligible for a cash refund. You may request a voucher instead.

Secure Payments: All payments on mountthrill.com are processed securely through Razorpay. We do not store your card or bank details on our servers. We accept UPI, Credit Card, Debit Card, and Net Banking.

Once your booking is accepted, you will receive an immediate confirmation invoice on both your email and WhatsApp, with your trek dates, itinerary, and payment summary. Please check it carefully — names, dates, and trek details must match your government-issued ID exactly.

03Health, Fitness & Participation Requirements

You're responsible for confirming, before you book, that you're medically fit and reasonably prepared for the difficulty level of your chosen trek. Every trek page lists its fitness prerequisites and eligibility criteria — please read these before booking.

Minors: Trekkers under 18 cannot join unaccompanied. Those aged 10–17 may join with a parent or legal guardian, who takes full responsibility for them for the duration of the trek.

If you have a medical condition, mobility limitation, or are undergoing treatment for a physical or mental health condition, you must disclose this in writing at the time of booking, and arrange for any medication or care you may need on trek. Non-disclosure is treated as a breach of these Terms and may result in exclusion from the trek without refund.

If our trek leaders or ground team assess — before or during the trek — that a participant does not meet the fitness or experience level required, they may restrict or refuse further participation for everyone's safety. No refund applies in this case.

Any equipment issued to you (tents, gear, safety equipment) must be used responsibly. You're liable to compensate Mountthrill for loss or damage to issued equipment caused by negligence or misuse.

04Local Laws, Customs & Conduct on Trek

The regions we trek through — including remote villages and religious sites in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Kashmir — have their own customs and sensitivities. Please travel respectfully. If you disregard local laws or customs, we are not liable for any resulting cost, loss, or trek disruption, and no refund will be due for the unused portion of your trek.

On every Mountthrill trek:

  • Alcohol, drugs, and any form of intoxication are strictly prohibited for the duration of the trek.
  • Our trek leader represents Mountthrill on the ground and has final authority over safety decisions, pace, and route calls.
  • If your conduct is disruptive, abusive, unsafe, or puts yourself, other trekkers, or staff at risk, our trek leader may terminate your participation on the spot. No refund or compensation applies in this case, and Mountthrill is not liable for any resulting cost you incur.

05Emergency Evacuation

Every Mountthrill trek carries first-aid-trained trek leaders and an emergency response plan. If evacuation becomes necessary, we will arrange and support your safe descent to the nearest motorable road head, and help you reach the nearest hospital or care facility. Costs of evacuation — porters, vehicles, ambulance, hospitalisation, or related expenses — are borne by the participant.

06Travel Documents, Permits & Visas

We can share general guidance on permits and ID requirements for a given trek, but confirming exact requirements — visas, Inner Line Permits (ILP), valid ID — for your nationality and travel dates is your responsibility. Mountthrill isn't liable for costs, fines, or trek exclusion resulting from incomplete or invalid documentation. International participants may be required to pay additional non-transferable costs for permits.

07Accommodation & Camping

Accommodation and campsite arrangements booked through Mountthrill (guesthouses, homestays, or tents) may only be used by trekkers named on your confirmation invoice. You are responsible for the cost of any damage you cause to accommodation, tents, or shared equipment during the trek.

08Special Requests

We'll try to accommodate reasonable special requests — dietary needs, rooming preferences — if you let us know in writing after booking. We'll confirm whether a request carries an extra cost; only requests confirmed in writing or paid for can be guaranteed.

Backpack offloading: We strongly encourage carrying your own backpack. If you genuinely can't, offloading onto a porter/mule is available for a fee, subject to a 12kg limit per bag. Offloading applies for the full duration of the trek — partial offloading is not available.

09Photography, Video & Content Use

Mountthrill trek leaders and team members may capture photos and videos during treks, which may feature you. Unless you tell us otherwise in writing, you agree that Mountthrill may use this content on our website, social media, and marketing materials, with credit given where reasonably possible.

10Limitation of Liability

Mountthrill takes every reasonable precaution to keep your trek safe, but trekking in the Himalayas carries inherent risk from terrain, altitude, and weather that no amount of planning can fully eliminate. To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, Mountthrill's liability for any claim arising from your trek is limited to the amount you paid for that specific booking, except where the loss arises from our gross negligence or wilful default.

11Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from this agreement will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If it remains unresolved, the courts of Dehradun, Uttarakhand will have exclusive jurisdiction.

Amendments: We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your booking confirmation governs that booking.
