Cancellation & Refund Policy

Last updated: 15 August 2026

01Overview

Trek prices are reviewed regularly and Mountthrill reserves the right to revise prices at any time. Ongoing offers or discounts may be introduced or withdrawn without prior notice — bookings already confirmed under a previous price or offer are unaffected.

Refunds — cash or voucher — are calculated on the net amount paid (base trek price plus add-ons like transport, gear rental, or portage), minus the applicable deduction below.

02Cancellation by the trekker

Process: Cancellations are handled through your Mountthrill account dashboard. Log in, go to your booking, and follow the cancellation flow — you'll be able to choose Cash or Voucher refund as per the applicable policy. If you run into any issue, write to us at support@mountthrill.com and our team will process it manually.

Replacing a trekker: You can replace a trekker on a "Paid" booking through your dashboard, provided it's done at least 10 days before departure. The new trekker must complete and sign the participant undertaking form and send it to our support email. Note: seats on non-transferable transport (e.g., shared cabs, train berths) booked for the original trekker cannot be transferred and will be cancelled automatically.

Cash Refunds apply only to bookings made without any discount, promo code, or voucher, and only where the booking status is "Paid" (not "Booked"/unpaid).

Voucher Refunds are available for all booking types, including discounted and promo bookings. Mountthrill vouchers can be used against any future Mountthrill trek in India, are valid for 24 months from issue, and can be claimed up to 10 days before departure. Vouchers do not include GST/service tax paid at the time of the original booking; tax will also not be re-applied when the voucher is redeemed. Vouchers cannot be combined with any other promotional offer or discount.

03Cancellation or rescheduling by Mountthrill

We plan every departure months in advance, but Himalayan conditions are unpredictable. We reserve the right to change a facility, itinerary detail, or price shown on our website, and will tell you about any change we're aware of at the time of booking. The final itinerary and any transport details are shared 2–3 days before departure, as timings can shift closer to the date.

Force majeure — events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to landslides, extreme weather, road closures, war, civil unrest, strikes, terrorism, natural disasters, epidemics/pandemics, or government restrictions — may force us to alter or cancel a departure. If this happens, you can choose to:

  • accept an equivalent replacement trek, if one is available, or
  • cancel and receive a full refund of everything paid (base price, transport, taxes).

If the change or cancellation is due to force majeure or another reason genuinely outside our control, the refund will be issued as a voucher valid for 12 months. For any other Mountthrill-initiated cancellation, you can choose between a 24-month voucher or a cash refund. If your original booking used a voucher, the cash-eligible portion is refunded in cash, and your original voucher is reactivated with 12 additional months of validity.

04Refund timelines and slabs

Approved cash refunds are processed within 7–14 working days, back to the original payment source via Razorpay.

05Changes or cancellation after the trek has started

If a trek is cut short or changed after departure due to force majeure or other reasons beyond our control, Mountthrill is not liable to refund amounts already paid or spent on your behalf.

If you choose to leave a trek before it's completed, no refund is due for the unused portion. You will also be responsible for any additional actual costs of arranging your safe return (porter, transport, etc.). If a safe return isn't feasible at that point, Mountthrill reserves the right to decline the drop-out until it is.

06Non-refundable amounts

Add-ons (gear rental, transport, offloading, etc.) are generally fully refundable at the same slab and timeline as the base booking, unless explicitly stated otherwise.

07How to request a cancellation or refund

The fastest way to request a cancellation is through your Mountthrill account dashboard. Alternatively, you can email support@mountthrill.com or use our Contact Us page with your booking ID.

Founder-Led Adventure Series

Journey with MonkTrekker

Once a month, MonkTrekker personally leads one small-group Himalayan journey — not a standard package, but a route chosen for what it teaches, not just where it goes. Expect backpacking over marked trails, unscheduled stops in villages most itineraries skip, campfire conversations that run late, and a pace built for actually being there, not just getting through it.
